The Youth and Outdoor Ministry team has been working hard for months to vision and plan for our next conference-wide youth event! IMMERSION 2025:SF will be held at

The Waller Urban Retreat Center, which is owned and operated by our siblings in the United Methodist Church. The Waller Center is located in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood and is a fantastic location for a weekend youth event! It has a commercial kitchen, full-size gym space, dorm rooms, and a beautiful chapel space for evening worship.

We have a variety of activities planned to help youth get to know each other and have fun, led by members of the Youth

and Outdoor Ministry team and other awesome adult chaperone volunteers. On Saturday we will spend the bulk of the day volunteering with the Haight-Ashbury Food Program, helping with their huge weekly food distribution to neighbors in need. In the afternoon, we will have a selection of mini-field trips around the city that youth can choose from, our hope being that we’re offering a variety of options so that each youth can find something that they’re interested in and on Sunday morning we will attend Celebration at Glide Memorial Church.

Our hope is that this event will help us kickoff a new era of strong conference-wide Youth Programming. While this event will take place in San Francisco, our plan is to rotate the youth events around to different regions within the conference, so that youth experience a wide variety of locations and experiences, and so that youth located outside the Bay Area aren’t always the ones traveling!

We are piloting a new fee structure, with 25% and 50% scholarships built-in to the registration form, and full-scholarships abound, no questions asked! Just email Lauren@ncncucc.org for the coupon code. We recognize that raising kids is hard and expensive! So we want to make sure that cost is never an obstacle for participating, and are grateful that The Waller Center has such accommodating fees for renting their space. We are also willing to help arrange transportation for churches who have youth who want to attend but have no way to get to San Francisco – reach out to Lauren if that’s the case for your youth and we’ll figure something out!
