On June 30, four young adults from Chinese Congregational UCC in San Francisco began their journey to Taiwan to participate in the I Love Taiwan Immersion Trip, hosted by the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan.
Luke, Jennifer, Andy, and Elizabeth will be in Taiwan from July 2 to July 16. During this two-week program, they will meet young people from around the world, learn from the life and witness of the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan, and visit local churches in the Tainan Presbytery, which is one of NCNC’s Global Partnership partners. They will also have the opportunity to attend a semiannual meeting of the Tainan Presbytery.
On June 25, during the UCC National PAAM Convention in Irvine, NCNC Conference Minister Rev. Dr. Davena L. Creer-Jones offered words of encouragement and invited the wider community to hold these four young adults in prayer. We pray that this journey will be safe, meaningful, and deeply inspiring for each of them, and that they will return with renewed faith, a deeper understanding of global partnership, and a rediscovered love and passion for their communities.
Please continue to keep Luke, Jennifer, Andy, and Elizabeth in your prayers throughout their time in Taiwan. We also give thanks for the care, generosity, prayers, and support of the churches and members of the Northern California Nevada Conference, who have helped make this important journey possible.
