I understand that I must complete all necessary orientation and training, in addition to this application, in order to be invited to serve as a Conference volunteer. I further understand that some positions will require my undergoing a criminal background check, at Conference expense, following orientation but before I am cleared to volunteer, and that the background check may be the foundation for modifications to my volunteer terms of service in a supplemental behavioral covenant. Volunteers who engage in misconduct as defined by the Personnel Policies of this Conference will be immediately relieved of service, pending review by the Conference Minister and guidance of the Conference Council. Further, volunteers who are Authorized Ministers are bound by the Ordained Minister's Code of the United Church of Christ, and violations are grounds for a Ministerial Fitness Review. I understand that each volunteer position has minimum estimated hours of service, and that I am responsible for fulfilling those hours as ongoing condition of my eligibility to serve as a volunteer. I will immediately notify the appropriate Conference staff person regarding a change in my availability and invite a conversation regarding appropriate adaptations to my role in light of Conference missional needs. Finally, I understand that my eligibility to be a Conference volunteer requires active and engaged membership in a Local Church of the United Church of Christ that is a covenant member of the Northern California Nevada Conference; should I resign or relinquish membership in such a congregation, my volunteer eligibility will be terminated concurrently with the conclusion of my membership and will not be re-established until such membership conditions are met.
