By Conference Minister Diane Weible
I laughed to myself the other day as I thought about the title of this weekly Newsletter article: “Let’s Talk.” I laughed because I realized that I do all the talking! (Ok, I do all the writing but the point is the same—it is my voice only.) Some of you add wonderful comments and I always read them. I don’t answer the comments directly unless it is something that really needs a wider response. I do sometimes reach out to people individually. Most of the time, I just really appreciate the conversation and the feedback.
All this got me to thinking that I would like to try to begin “online conversations” again. A few years ago, I tried a monthly video call. Sometimes there was a specific topic I invited us to consider and sometimes there was just space for conversation about what was on your mind and what we could do to support one another in ministry.
I would like to try this again and am inviting anyone who has a free hour to join me at 3 PM on April 17. Yes, I know it’s Holy Week. I did it on purpose because I thought it might actually be a good time for us to connect. Like I said, there is no specific agenda. If you have questions or something you want to talk about, let’s talk! And, if you want to share what is happening in your church during this sacred week, that would be wonderful too. It would benefit all of us to learn to listen and to share.
If possible, please mark your calendar for April 17, 3-4 PM. And, here is the link:
