Because of you: the Northern California Nevada Conference is transforming lives.
We are on a mission to create a culture of abundance in our Conference, through our Local Churches and Authorized Ministers. Boldly believing Jesus Christ’s assurance of abundant life, ours is a place where attitudes of generosity and appreciation are the norm rather than the exception.
In Galatians, Paul writes, “the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” Inspiring generosity is one of the most important tasks of Christian faith communities as mission places of making God’s love and justice real for everyone.
Here you can find resources to promote a culture of abundance in your own Local Church, including year-round comprehensive stewardship, annual and capital campaigns, planned giving, and narrative budgeting.
Additional resources are also available related to Our Church’s Wider Mission and Covenant Offerings – the ways in which Local Churches financially support their wider covenant connection in their Association, Conference, National Setting, and Global Ministries.
You can also find information about making your support to the Northern California Nevada Conference as a Friend of the Conference, including our Power of 10 and Sierra Pacific Society giving programs, and planned giving opportunities.
Contrary to the way in which it is often used, stewardship is not the church word for fundraising! How we use the many gifts God has entrusted to us is how we practice stewardship. As you promote and strengthen a culture of generous abundance in your Local Church, effective management of resources through faithful stewardship is the essential feedback reinforcement loop that must also be present.
Resources are available, including our unique Fair & Just Compensation for Church Workers (formerly known as “Compensation Guidelines”), for stewardship excellence. We also provide links to the appropriate remittance forms for congregational giving to the Conference, as well as the Treasurer’s Guidebook and local guides for insurance, pensions, and financial management.
The Rev. Daniel Ross-Jones is Associate Conference Minister for philanthropy & stewardship and is available to speak with your congregation personally on how to advance generosity in your setting. Regular leadership development opportunities are also available for Authorized Ministers and Local Church leaders relating to philanthropy & stewardship, including our annual Week of Abundance series.
