We in the United Church of Christ place a high premium on education. We understand God’s movement in the pursuit of wisdom, curiosity, and wonder. As our existing beliefs and understandings are challenged, we know that the Holy Spirit is stretching us into a place of growth.
Not all education comes in classrooms on physical campuses, of course. Yet, where it does, the United Church of Christ strives to be present to help present an extravagant welcome in the name of Jesus Christ for pilgrims engaging in this particular journey in life. As a church, we are enlivened by the Academy and by our quest for lifelong learning.
In the Northern California Nevada Conference, we are blessed to partner with a number of campus ministries. All of them are infused with our tradition of being a united and uniting Progressive Christian faith, as we engage in this work as partners with other denominations in common witness to the table of Jesus Christ.
Are you interested in starting a campus ministry for students? In particular, the Conference is placing a priority on recruiting leaders for campus ministries at Fresno and Sacramento State Universities. Reach out to Associate Conference Minister Daniel Ross-Jones to discuss further.
