Youth and Outdoor Ministries is a large committee who serves the Youth and Camp Ministries of our Conference. The chairs of the committee for 2016-2017 are Patrick Kane, and Parker Dunbar. The committee has various sub groups that organize: Finance, Policy & Procedures, Staffing, Tamarack Facilities, Technology & Marketing. To be in touch with any member of the committee you can email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Sonny Graves supports the work of the committee and coordinates the Youth and Camp logistics/files, background screening, and staff training. He can be reached at: email@example.com.

“Feb” Camp at Monte Toyon in the Santa Cruz Mountains has been postponed due to weather and road conditions. The new dates are November 17-19, 2017 and it will be called Fall Youth Event but will take place at Monte Toyon. Put it on your calendar now! We’ll start after dinner on Friday (7PM) and go until Sunday afternoon. Register here.
We also hold our summer camps that offer faith exploration for children, youth, and adults in two amazing settings:
Camp Cazadero is located outside Guerneville, in Sonoma County. Camp Caz has electricity and hot and cold water in each cabin, a big lodge and meeting areas. Food is cooked by the management staff. There is a big field for sports, a dancing/game slab, a fire bowl, vesper point, and pool in the midst of a mixed redwood, pine and broadleaf forest that provides the backdrop for life changing experiences. Camp Tamarack is in the high Sierra, east of Fresno. When the snow melts at over 7,000 feet a rustic Camp Tam is revealed. Shared cooking gives everyone an opportunity to take a turn helping the cooks prepare meals for the group. Tent cabins, a lodge, fire bowl, worship area, big field, lakes close by, and propane lighting make for an amazing, close time. Check out photos on our Facebook pages. The weeks at camp vary, but they typically include:
- small-group discussions on a scripture-based theme for the week
- a Talent/No Talent Show for campers to show off their skills, skits, jokes, or none-of-the-above
- daily evening worship services
- hiking in stunning forests
- games and sports
- dance parties
Each week is an opportunity to praise and explore our Still Speaking God, nature & Creation, and friends both familiar and new.
Making Camp more affordable: we offer a payment plan for those who need more time to pay for camp. Many churches offer “camperships”, a scholarship specifically to come join camp — ask your church! The Conference also has a small campership fund. For information about an NCNC campership, call registrar Joy Davis at 510-247-8995 or email to firstname.lastname@example.org
