As one of the first Conferences to be incorporated in the United Church of Christ, formed by the merger of the Northern California Conference of the Congregational Christian Church and the Northern California Synod of the Evangelical & Reformed Church, the Northern California Nevada Conference of the United Church of Christ is a religious corporation chartered in the State of California and exercises authorities and responsibilities of the civil religious corporation and as middle judicatory setting in relationship to its member local churches and authorized ministers and the General Synod of the United Church of Christ.
